Petrom Q2 net 719 mln lei, beats forecast

Aug 4 (Reuters) – Romania’s top oil and gas company Petrom SNPP.BX posted an 719 million lei ($233.4 million) second-quarter net profit on Wednesday, beating market expectations.

The average forecast in a Reuters poll was 650 million lei.

Petrom, controlled by Austria’s OMV (OMVV.VI), recorded a 807 million lei net profit in January-March and a 6 million lei figure in the second quarter last year. (Reporting by Radu Marinas; Editing by Erica Billingham)
