Employers repay underpaid workers

by mani on April 20, 2010

Two Wimmera workers have been back paid about $40,000 after the Fair Work Ombudsman found they had been underpaid by their employers.

An Edenhope service industry worker received more than $34,000 and a cook in Warracknabeal has been reimbursed $6,000.

The Ombudsman says the underpayments were the result of a lack of understanding by the employers about their responsibilities with respect to wages and entitlements.
